Hello Neighbor,
I would like to share a new nonprofit I have been working with and highly recommend supporting. Capital Church in Salt Lake City, was approached by World Vision, an international Christian nonprofit, to create and run a distribution center in Salt Lake City, for the city and beyond.

The distribution center would recieve a semitruck load/20 pallets of nonperishable goods monthly, or more often, to distribute into the community, via other nonprofits, churches and organizations. Capital Cares, a UT secular nonprofit was born to fulfill this need. Our current partners include churches, nonprofits, pantries and other organizations, which list is below.

In the first 6 months of Capital Cares partnerships we have provided over $400,000 worth of nonperishable items in 132 orders to 26 partner organizations, through World Vision. This impact has been felt in at least 6 states and 2 foreign countries we know of. Thousands of adults and children have been helped and the stories are touching.

The difference something as seemingly small as a disposable razor for a homeless man who can now show up to court or a job interview clean shaven… or the family with new beds so they can dispose of the old bedbug infested mattresses… or the recent health fair in Clearfield where hundreds of tubes of toothpaste, razors, sunscreen and such were passed out.

The refugee mom and daughter who got new kitchen tools, mattresses and such to feel safe in their new country whose people care about them… the couple sleeping on a real bed after years of not having one… it’s a beautiful project and we are grateful to participate and invite you to consider joining us!

You can partner with us by becoming a partner organization, by volunteering and/or by donating. (Capital Cares has applied for 501 (c)(3) status with the IRS and anticipates confirmation soon.) Check out this link for more information on all those options.

Capital Cares is now accepting new partners with a 6-month annual fee waiver! If you know of a great local church or nonprofit we could help please share my contact information or let me me know!
That fee is $500/year to participate, which goes to hard costs of the warehouse, utilities, equipment maintenance, shipments delivery costs, etc. All our people are volunteers. It is waived for the first 6 months to give you time to participate and gauge the value for your organization.

Here is a link to our website for more information and you can feel free to reach out to me with questions and next steps if you are interested in partnering with us.
Grace & Peace,
Roxy Cross
